Set in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, The Inn is central to the most scenic walking routes around picturesque villages, passing through Yorkshire Wild Life Trust’s Burton Leonard Lime Quarries, through Jackson Woods and amble by pretty Stainley Beck.
There are no shortage of walks offering stunning views across the North York Moors, but we’ve selected a couple of the best to suit all abilities which take you through local beauty and heritage spots including Studley Park, Markenfield Hall and Fountains Abbey. And what better way to set you up for a long country walk than a decent bacon butty, so please join us for complimentary bacon sandwiches (vegetarian options are available), tea and coffee at The Inn before you set-off. On every first Saturday of each month between 10.00am and 10.30am we’ll provide freshly prepared bacon sandwiches with tea and coffee free to all walkers. People are welcome to make a voluntary donation to our chosen local charity, Martin House, which provides family led care for children with terminal illnesses.
So, whatever the season there’s no excuse as The Inn offers a cosy and inviting atmosphere with a large lawned beer garden to enjoy on warm summer days and real fires throughout the pub during the winter months, and we’re dog friendly so you’re welcome to bring along your four-legged friends. The Inn also has 12 en-suite bedrooms all recently designed in an elegant contemporary and traditional style, some of which dogs are also able to stay in. And our extensive food menu focusses on fresh local seasonal produce which offers something for everyone, from our seafood specials to sandwiches, traditional pub classics and roast dinners, making it an ideal relaxing retreat to escape for the weekend or the perfect way to end your walk.
